Back from Erie

I just got back from a very soggy Erie, Pa. I enjoyed the show even with the rain. It is so nice doing shows where you meet new and interesting people. I think that is why I enjoy doing shows - besides hopefully making money.

I have not been doing shows very long but I have enjoyed my experiences very much. Each show is different and I learn something different from each one. The show at The Southside works was awesome in part because I saw so many people that I have known in "previous lives"- ex-students,ex-colleagues, ex-student's parents, etc. In addition, I made a little money which is always a good thing.

In Erie, I met new people and learned to always bring a second pair of shoes with you. The wind and rain definitely impacted the show but the other vendors were interesting, the food was good (assuming you like vendor food -which I do!), and the patrons were upbeat. I am planning to go back up to Erie in the nice weather to walk the beach and look for sea glass. I would like to work with more found objects in my jewelry.

It will be nice to have next weekend off and then it is on to Irwin for Heritage days. See you next post.

This is my first blog and I have to tell you I'm a little anxious as I'm not sure what to say. Happy fourth of July to all my fellow Americans. I love the summer and the 4th is one of my favorite holidays because I really feel summer is here. I taught school for many years so this was my vacation and recharging time and I looked forward to it all year. Now I am designing and selling jewelry and loving every miute it of it. Check out my website at http://dianewrightdesigns.1000markets.com/ and let me know what you think.
